Bishop-elect Batut at the Cathedral of Notre-Dame, Paris
Some very interesting news is coming out of France today by way of the Schola Sainte Cecile -- and the NLM's own Philippe Guy may be able to give us more insight into this. They are reporting that their pastor, the pastor of the parish church of St-Eugene-Ste-Cecile, has been appointed a bishop by the Holy Father:
Our Priest named Bishop!
The Holy Father has appointed M. l’abbé Batut, pastor of St-Eugene-Sainte-Cecile (Paris IX), auxiliary Bishop of Lyon.
First Hungarian Bishop Since Council Offers Solemn Pontifical Mass in Usus Antiquior
The blog of the Capitulum Laicorum Sancti Michaelis Archangeli in Budapest, Hungary, report an event of particular significance for the usus antiquior in that country; namely, the celebration of a Solemn Pontifical Mass from the Faldstool by the local Auxiliary Bishop of Vác at the minor basilica of Mátraverebély-Szentkút, the national shrine of Hungary -- the first Solemn Pontifical Mass in the usus antiquior by a Hungarian bishop since the time of the Council.
The Bishop was greeted by the head of the Franciscan community which administers the shrine, Fr. Peregrin Kálmán OFM, and the Office of Terce was sung by the gathered congregation.
Members of the Capitulum Laicorum S. Michaelis Archangeli took a role in the execution of this liturgy, as well as some Hungarian seminarians.
Here are a few photographs of the event.

Usus Antiquior at Kenrick Seminary
At Kenrick-Glennon Seminary in the Archdiocese of St. Louis, Mass in the usus antiquior was offered. Here are two images from that Mass.
Kenrick Seminary celebrates Solemn Mass (Usus Antiquior)
The NLM received word today that the seminarians at Kenrick-Glennon Seminary in St. Louis spent the day today in a workshop on the usus antiquior. The workshop began with a Solemn Mass offered at the old Kenrick Seminary Chapel (now the Cardinal Rigali Center), celebrated by Fr. Karl Lenhardt of the Institute of Christ the King -- who also recently celebrated the Sept. 14th Mass on EWTN with great excellence.
Here are some photos of the event.
