Solemn Vows at Heiligenkreuz

Yesterday, the feast of St Bernard of Clairvaux, two monks of Stift Heiligenkreuz in Austria made their solemn vows. Our good friendSancrucensis has some very nice pictures of the ceremony, and the following explanation of the ceremony. Click over to him for more photos. 

The ceremony for solemn vows follows more or less the outline described by St Benedict in the Rule, and is marked by St Benedict’s Roman sobriety. After the Gospel the candidates prostrate themselves before the Abbot, who asks: Quid pétitis? (What do you ask for?) They respond Misericórdiam Dei et Ordinis. (The mercy of God and of the Order.) The abbot then tells them to arise and preaches a sermon, sitting on the faldstool with the candidates standing in front of him. Then comes the feudal “homagium,” in which the candidates lay their hands in the abbot’s and promise him and his successors obedience according to the Rule of St Benedict “usque ad mortem.” Then every one kneels down and theVeni Creator Spiritus is sung. Then come the actual vows. The candidates read out the vows of stability, conversion of morals and obedience, which they have written by hand on parchment. They then sign the vow charts on the altar. The charts remain on the altar and are offered to God together with the gifts of the Mass. After signing the vows they sing Súscipe me, Dómine, secúndum elóquium tuum et vívam; † et non confúndas me ab exspectatióne mea three times. (Psalm 118, 116. In Benedictine breviaries, this verse, which is sung at Terce of Monday, is printed in small caps or otherwise distinguished as a weekly reminder of the day of one’s profession.) They then kneel down in front of each and every monk in the community, saying Ora pro me Pater, (Pray for me, Father) to which the monks reply Dóminus custódiat intróitum tuum et éxitum tuum. (The Lord keep thy entering and thy going forth.) While this is going on cantors sing the Miserere. Then the newly professed monks are then blessed with an extraordinary three part prayer, addressed to each of the Persons of the Blessed Trinity in turn. They are then clothed in the cowl and the Mass proceeds.

Mons. Shlemon Warduni sulla situazione dei cristiani in Iraq e in Siria : “Si sono aperte le porte dell'inferno e sono usciti tutti i diavoli. Il maligno si è scatenato”.

Nei giorni scorsi l’intervista di Mons. Shlemon Warduni, vescovo ausiliario del Patriarcato di Babilonia e presidente della Caritas irachena,  aFamiglia Cristiana sulla situazione dei cristiani in Iraq e in Siria : “Si sono aperte le porte dell'inferno e sono usciti tutti i diavoli. Il maligno si è scatenato”. 

Lo stesso Prelato, invitato al Meeting  CL di Rimini ha rilasciato la presente intervista raccolta da Leone Grotti su I Tempi .

Al Meeting di Rimini abbiamo incontrato il vescovo ausiliare di Baghdad Shlemon Warduni: «Finora comunità internazionale e cristiani non hanno fatto niente di pratico per noi ».

Rimini . «Non sappiamo da dove viene questa gente, probabilmente dall’inferno perché neanche i diavoli saprebbero trovare modi più terribili per far tanto male alla gente». 

Non usa mezzi termini il vescovo ausiliare di Baghdad dei caldei, Shlemon Warduni, che al Meeting spiega a tempi.it di essere molto preoccupato per la sorte degli iracheni e dei cristiani, cacciati dalle loro case di Mosul e della piana di Ninive dai terroristi dello Stato islamico. 

Inoltre, afferma, è deluso perché «finora la comunità internazionale e anche i cristiani non hanno fatto niente di pratico per aiutarci». 

Eccellenza, qual è la situazione dei cristiani rifugiati in Kurdistan? 

La sorte di tutti i cittadini iracheni è la stessa. 

Tutti sono inquieti, non solo i cristiani, perché mancano pace e sicurezza da tanti anni. 

Ma in questi ultimi mesi è successa una cosa che non avremmo mai potuto neanche immaginare: questi malviventi hanno costretto i cristiani e tutte le minoranze a scappare in massa. 

I cristiani vivevano a Mosul da duemila anni e ormai da oltre due mesi non si recita più una preghiera in città. 

Forse questa gente viene dall’inferno, sono peggio dei diavoli. 

Per questo noi abbiamo gridato ad alta voce per chiedere aiuto a tutto il mondo: ai cristiani, ai musulmani, agli atei, a tutta la gente di buona volontà. 

Perché il nostro popolo, i nostri fedeli, i nostri vecchi, i nostri bambini non vengano maltrattati in questo modo cattivo e terribile. 

Di cosa hanno più bisogno gli sfollati? 

Prima di tutto hanno bisogno di un tetto, perché molti di loro dormono sotto il sole con questo caldo terribile e al buio di notte, mentre prima avevano delle case belle e ordinate. 

Poi hanno bisogno dei viveri e dei vestiti, perché quando sono stati cacciati li hanno saccheggiati, hanno preso da loro tutto ciò che avevano. 

 … 

La comunità internazionale deve intervenire militarmente? 

La comunità internazionale può prima di tutto impedire che le armi arrivino a questa gente cattiva. Poi può inviare le forze internazionali per proteggere la nostra gente. Infine, può liberare questi nostri villaggi e città dalle mani dei malviventi per ridare a noi cristiani e ai cittadini delle altre minoranze i nostri leciti diritti. 

Oggi stanno cercando di sradicarci da questa terra. 

Ogni settimana si pregava e si celebrava la Messa a Mosul. 
Quanta gente oggi piange così: “Un’altra domenica senza Messa, senza partecipare al Corpo e al Sangue di Cristo”.  ( Anzi che da noi ... Chi  piangerebbe nel nostro già opulento e scristianizzato  Occidente per non poter osservare il precetto festivo a causa della mancanza della celebrazione del Santo Sacrificio della Messa ? N.d.R.)

Ma c’è una cosa ancora più penosa di tutto questo. 

Quale? 

La comunità internazionale finora ha fatto pochissimo, malgrado le grida che si sono levate dal nostro popolo da oltre due mesi. 

Anche i cristiani, cosa hanno fatto? 

Finora non abbiamo visto niente di pratico. 

E quindi noi alziamo la voce, tutti quanti chiediamo che il Signore dia la grazia a tutte le persone perché ci aiutino.

Novidades assombrosas chegam do Carmelo de Coimbra.

O livro "Um caminho sob o olhar de Maria" editado pelo Carmelo de Coimbra.

Um documento inédito da Irmã Lúcia que se insere no conjunto profético de Fátima foi publicado pelo Carmelo de Coimbra.

Esse documento revela coisas novas e pasmosas sobre o desfecho da crise do mundo que abandonou a Fé e a Civilização Cristã.

A origem desse documento é a seguinte. O Carmelo de Coimbra, onde viveu seus últimos anos e morreu (em 2005) a Irmã Lúcia, publicou um livro oficial com o título Um caminho sob o olhar de Maria.

Trata-se de uma biografia da vidente de Fátima, redigida por suas irmãs do Carmelo. Ela inclui documentos inéditos escritos pela própria religiosa.

A Terceira Guerra Mundial

Hoje se fala muito que vivemos no conturbado período histórico lugubremente inaugurado pela I Guerra Mundial. A II Guerra foi um deplorável desdobramento da Primeira, segundo a afirmação geral dos historiadores mais reputados.

Francisco I e muitas outras conhecidas vozes vêm dizendo que o mundo está entrando na III Guerra Mundial. O Pontífice se referiu a ela na sua viagem de retorno de Seul, Coréia do Sul.

Ele apenas fez a ressalva de que era fragmentada, por não se ter ainda universalizado. Mas constatou que a Guerra está crescendo por “capítulos” e que se destaca por sua “crueldade”.

Sem dúvida, as altas esferas religiosas e políticas que vêm falando dessa III Guerra Mundial pensam sobretudo no massacre de cristãos no Oriente Médio e na feroz guerra empreendida pela Rússia de Putin contra os ucranianos, especialmente os católicos.

A era histórica de Fátima

Quando essa sinistra sucessão de Guerras começava, Nossa Senhora apareceu em Fátima, no dia 13 de maio de 1917, e advertiu sobre as suas causas: a decadência dos costumes. E os meios para evitá-la: a reforma dos costumes, ou penitência, e a consagração da Rússia.

Dominada poucos depois pelos erros do comunismo, a Rússia haveria de ser o instrumento do castigo, espalhando tais erros pelo mundo, como também guerras e perseguições à Igreja e ao Santo Padre, caso o mundo não se convertesse e fizesse penitência.

Mas Nossa Senhora completou que, após tremendos castigos, no final dessa era de calamidades Seu Coração Imaculado triunfaria.

Tudo foi se realizando como Nossa Senhora anunciou em Fátima.

Mas os homens não levaram a sério as misericordiosas advertências de Nossa Senhora.

Uma parte do segredo revelado pela Mãe de Deus deveria ser publicada em 1960. Porém, o Papa reinante nesse ano, João XXIII, julgou-a por demais terrível e não a deu a conhecer.

No ano 2000, fora do prazo fixado por Nossa Senhora, João Paulo II mandou publicar essa parte do segredo, a qual fala de um Papa (“bispo vestido de branco”) atravessando uma cidade destruída, em meio a muitos cadáveres, e padecendo por fim o martírio junto com bispos sacerdotes e fiéis.

Por sua vez, o Papa Bento XVI, em visita a Fátima no dia 13 de maio de 2010, afirmou: “Enganar-se-ia quem pensasse que a missão profética de Fátima esteja concluída”.

E acrescentou: “O homem pôde desencadear um ciclo de morte e de terror, e não consegue interrompê-lo. A fé em vastas regiões da terra ameaça apagar-se como uma chama que não é mais alimentada”.

Carmelo de Coimbra publica inédito manuscrito

E assim chegamos à atual publicação do Carmelo de Coimbra. O livro contém um relato, escrito pela Irmã Lúcia, de como ela superou o terror que a impedia de escrever o Terceiro Segredo.

No relato, a Irmã Lúcia conta que, por volta das 16 horas do dia 3 de janeiro de 1944, rezando na capela do convento diante do Tabernáculo, pediu a Jesus que lhe fizesse conhecer a sua vontade. E então, escreve ela:

Na última aparição, em 13.10.1917, Nossa Senhora se manifestou
como a Virgem do Carmo, coroada Rainha do Céu e da Terra.

“Senti então, que uma mão amiga, carinhosa e maternal me toca no ombro, levanto o olhar e vejo a querida Mãe do Céu.

“Não temas, quis Deus provar a tua obediência, Fé e humildade, está em paz e escreve o que te mandam, não porém o que te é dado entender do seu significado” (op. cit. p. 266).

O efeito destas palavras sobrenaturais é assim descrito pela vidente:

“E senti o espírito inundado por um mistério de luz que é Deus e N’Ele vi e ouvi,

— A ponta da lança como chama que se desprende, toca o eixo da terra.

— Ela estremece: montanhas, cidades, vilas e aldeias com os seus moradores são sepultados.

“O mar, os rios e as nuvens saem dos seus limites, transbordam, inundam e arrastam consigo num redemoinho, moradias e gente sem número que não se pode contar, é a purificação do mundo pelo pecado em que se mergulha.

“O ódio, a ambição provocam a guerra destruidora!

“Depois senti no palpitar acelerado do coração e no meu espírito o eco de uma voz suave que dizia:

— No tempo, uma só Fé, um só Batismo, uma só Igreja, Santa, Católica, Apostólica. Na eternidade, o Céu!

“Esta palavra Céu encheu a minha alma de paz e felicidade, de tal forma que quase sem me dar conta, fiquei repetindo por muito tempo:

— O Céu! o Céu!” (op. cit. p. 267).

A edição do Carmelo de Coimbra reproduz ainda, na p. 269, o fac-símile das páginas do manuscrito da Irmã Lúcia em que se encontra o presente texto.

Foi assim que a religiosa recebeu forças para escrever o Terceiro Segredo.

A Irmã Lúcia conclui o texto acima citado com a frase: “Apenas passou a maior força do sobrenatural, fui escrever [o terceiro Segredo] e fi-lo sem dificuldade, no dia 3 de janeiro de 1944, de joelhos apoiada sobre a cama que me serviu de mesa” (op. cit. p. 267).

A carta com esse segredo chegou ao seu destino, segundo confirma o recibo de recepção, mas não recebeu resposta.

Os dias de hoje

A publicação deste texto inédito da vidente de Fátima acontece num panorama mundial muito parecido com o descrito na visão.

As catástrofes humanas fazem que pessoas de tão alto nível eclesiástico e temporal julguem a Terceira Guerra Mundial já começada em regiões restritas, a partir das quais se espalha como um incêndio a outras partes da terra com que estão interligadas.

Mas o texto da Irmã Lúcia conclui com um anúncio consolador: o triunfo da religião católica em toda a Terra, imagem fidedigna do triunfo eterno de Deus no Céu:

— No tempo, uma só Fé, um só Batismo, uma só Igreja, Santa, Católica, Apostólica. Na eternidade, o Céu!

María: “Yo soy la poderosa Señora de todas las Almas, pero sólo una pequeñisima parte de las almas me reconoce como Señora.

 
María: “Yo soy la poderosa Señora de todas las Almas, pero sólo una pequeñisima parte de las almas me reconoce como Señora. Fuera de Dios han sido sometidos a Mí todos los seres, todas las cosas, todas las almas, en el cielo, en la tierra y bajo la tierra. En el cielo voy a ser saludada y alabada temblando de respeto y se me servirá con tembloroso respeto. Fuera de Dios yace a Mis pies la completa e inmensa corte celestial. En el infierno he de ser maldecida y odiada. En la tierra he de ser malentendida, despreciada y desatendida. Muchos me aman, pero son pocos los que yacen a Mis pies”. (María se refiere aquí claramente a los totalmente consagrados a Ella).


La total consagración a María significa, darnos nosotros mismos, para que Ella nos guíe hacia la bienaventuranza y por la ofrenda de nuestra propia vida pueda llevar gracias a las almas. Ella puede hacer esto porque ha recibido de Dios el poder total para transformar los sacrificios y pruebas que son consagrados a Ella, en manantiales de salvación  y de liberación para la humanidad: María ha sido revestida con el nuevo poder creador de Dios Mismo. 

La total consagración a María significa: darnos a nosotros mismos y cada detallede nuestra vida totalmente y sin ningún límite, como en una continua e ininterrumpida ofrenda en sacrificio. Ella posee el poder de utilizar todo nuestro ser, y cada acontecimiento de nuestra vida al servicio del plan de Dios. De cada sufrimiento que sea ofrecido expresamente  a Ella, hace una fuerza celestial,  mediante un misterio divino, fuerza que puede proporcionar  salvación y bendición a la creación. Por esta causa pueden llegar más bendiciones al mundo (y a nuestra propia vida) en la medida en que más almas se consagren totalmente a María y que su consagración la pongan estrictamente en práctica en la vida cotidiana.Ella es la llave de la puerta hacia el nuevo mundo: el mundo del Reino de Dios en la tierra.

6. History‘s Final Scene

When human history ends, and all of mankind is gathered before my Son, Jesus, only then will the full revelation of the heavenly Father’s plan be revealed.

At that moment, each person and each generation will see what they have done. All will see human history before their very eyes, like a movie in which they themselves are the actors, choosing to act according to the script of God or choosing to play a different role and become a discordant note.

Such will be that great moment. Every person will have played some part. Those who added to the story will be lifted up onto the heavenly stage. Those who rejected their God-given place will be left behind. They refused to be saved by the Lamb of God. Such is the final scene of human history.

Comment: When Jesus comes, we will all be there. It is a command performance, the whole purpose of our human lives.

5. Casting New Fire Upon the Church

Human history continues on its path until some Movement arises, which points out a new direction. How many times such movements have saved the world and rescued human history before it succumbed to the evil of its own decisions. At the center of these movements were strong personalities surrounded by devout disciples.

They knew how to spread their ideas so that many others joined in their fervor. The greater their numbers and the greater their devotion to their cause, the more powerful would be their impact.
Such was the vision of Jesus, as he gathered his disciples and taught them how to gather others. Released into human history was the great movement called Christianity which turned the world away from destruction and formed a new way of thinking and acting.

What has happened to this Movement? It now embraces the whole world. Christians live everywhere in almost every culture. In some places and among some groups, the original fervor remains. However, in so many places and in the hearts of those who call themselves Christian, the fervor of Jesus has cooled down. Even the understanding of his goals have been lost. The Movement has been swallowed up. The light no longer goes forth. The fire has been extinguished. Many claim the name of Jesus but the throbbing power of his life does not flow in their hearts.

This is why I act. This is my goal. More than any other disciple, I received the divine fire. It never grew cold in my heart. It always blazed with its initial fervor. Now I want to pour out this fire upon the whole Church. I take for myself, the words that Jesus used, “I have come to cast fire upon the earth”. If I do not cast this fire of divine love, rousing all believes to a new life in Christ, the human race will be unable to turn aside from its rush into a fire that will destroy all.

Comment: Human history records many movements that changed its course. Our Lady seeks the renewed fervor of the Movement begun by Jesus.

4. All Future Generations

Human history has many years to go. We are not at all near its end. However, the current generation will decide an important question. Will the future family of man be a tree filled with life or will it become a branch that lives in a withered form?

In human history, the future generation does not decide what it receives. The previous generations make those decisions and then they bequeath earth to others. What will be left? What will be handed on? These are the modern questions. What world will we leave to future generations?

The answers to these questions are not many years away. Earth will continue. Human life will continue. There are years and years to go before history ends. But answering the question of the future of the human race is not far away. I will say this with all of my strength, “The future generation, how mankind will exist for centuries to come, will be decided in this generation”. That is how serious are the conflicts now arising in every part of the globe. The level of human life that is bequeathed for generations to come will be decided by this generation. Can I say it any more starkly?

This generation is the hinge upon which all future generations will swing – to life or to death, to light or to darkness.

Although all of these questions are far beyond the powers of mankind, mankind still believes in its own powers, trusts its own judgments and refuses to listen to heaven. That is why I speak and why these little locutions are of such grave importance.

Comment: This locution is startling but world events make it credible. This generation, the coming years (we do not know how many) will determine life on earth for all future generations.

3. Reading Human History Correctly

I am speaking now of the course of human history, the path that it takes and the goals that it chooses to accomplish. This is the vision I want to implant in your hearts.

Many speak of human history as if they could judge its failures and its successes. That is not true. Human history has one Judge, Jesus Christ. He, alone, will draw all to a close, whenever He so chooses. It is only when Jesus Christ returns, when all gather before him, when all is revealed, when the human race is separated forever, some on his right and others on his left, with some entering into eternal glory and others trooping off to hell, that everyone, in that instant, will see the purpose of human history.

These are the mysteries I am trying to reveal now. I must do this through locutions because mankind has turned a deaf ear to the preaching of these mysteries.

These truths used to fill the culture. They were the very pillars upon which society built its daily life. Now these pillars are destroyed.

Comment: Mankind tries to judge history by human standards. The only true Judge of what is happening is Jesus.

2. Who Shapes Human History?

At the opening of the story of mankind all was sinless. All was a “yes” to the decision of the heavenly Father to bring forth persons made in his image and likeness, a startling decision that flesh and blood would share in God’s powers of knowing and willing. It was the grand experiment, and even the angels were amazed at this next step in God’s unfolding plan.

They rejoiced to have man as their friend, knowing that man’s destiny was to join them forever in heaven. The fallen angels did not see this creation of man in the same way. Their places were now vacant and God had chosen to fill these places with creatures much more lowly in stature than the mighty, but fallen, angels.

Thus, the contest began, a struggle that will continue to the end of time when, finally, Jesus will put all creation under his power and will wipe out death and sin forever. These are the shapers of human history. Although many shape the course of human history, man, of course, is at the center, the main actor, the one who ultimately must make the decision. However, these other forces are powerful. They, too, shape human history. I will unfold this story to enlighten all because many are quite unaware of the powers they face every day and of the helps that the heavenly Father wants to provide.

Comment: Our Lady lays out the scene for her explanation of history. This is very important for a mankind that has largely rejected these beliefs.
