The Truth we speak of is that objective reality which is God who is Love—specifically, the fullness of God's self-communication in the person of Jesus Christ. Cistercians traditionally speak of mysticism as the experience of God acquired by learning the truth about ourselves. This mysticism is an interior process we embrace day after day, purposefully and with a quiet joy, as one might pursue gardening, book illumination, or baking bread.

How Humility is Born

Christ is merciful and so, entering your mind, He raises it up; by His Wisdom He teaches it. Drawing it inward, He makes your mind His own representative that you may judge truthfully concerning everything you have ever done. From this union of Wisdom with your human mind is born the virtue called "humility."

The Law of Christ is the One Law that Liberates!

"Humility", Bernard taught, "is knowing the truth about yourself." You were created out of nothing and are every moment sustained in existence by God's free gift of love. Having grown in the virtue of humility, the monk will arrive at that love of God which casts out all fear and he will keep, without effort, as if naturally, all the rules he had previously observed because of fear!

To Know Again the Sweetness of Love

Having taught the mind wisdom, and led the monk to judge himself truly, the Word of God is followed by the Holy Spirit of God who visits the heart, purifies it and fills it with new ardor, making it merciful toward itself and others. Like skin that is rubbed with soothing ointment and becomes supple, the heart softens and expands with new affection — even for enemies. From this union of the Spirit of God with your heart is born love.

Mystical Union With God

Your mind having been restored by God's Word and the affection of your heart enlarged by God's Spirit, humility has cleansed your soul of its sins, and God clasps your soul to Himself. So intimate is this embrace, that your soul loses all remembrance of itself and, in relating to others, the soul is initiated into the secret treasury of Love, hidden in the heart of your neighbor whom you love with God's own love.

The rest is silence

When Heaven itself is made silent, your soul rests calmly in that gentle embrace as though asleep and yet wholly awake. In this repose, your soul beholds things invisible and hears things unutterable of which it is not permitted for any human being to speak. These are things that make all human knowledge as the darkness of night.

 . A missa foi cantada pelos coros combinado dos frades franciscanos e Irmãs da Imaculada de vários conventos dos F.I na Itália, e foi conduzido pela Ir. Maria Cecília Manelli e Pe. Giovanni Maria Manelli - resultando em um excelente exemplo da magnificência da Missa. Os irmãos e irmãs também tiveram a honra de receber Sua Excelência Dom Gino Reali, bispo da diocese local de Porto-Santa Rufino, em Roma.

Em sua homilia, o Cardeal Burke focou na necessidade de beleza e esplendor, na liturgia sagrada, ecoando o que Sua Santidade o Papa Bento XVI escreveu na carta que acompanha o seu Moto Proprio "Summorum Pontificum": "Não é apropriado falar destas duas versões do Missal Romano como se fossem «dois ritos». Pelo contrário, é uma questão de um duplo uso do único e mesmo Rito. "E" O que para as gerações anteriores era sagrado, permanece sagrado e grande também para nós, e não pode ser de improviso totalmente proibido ou mesmo prejudicial. Cabe a todos nós, para conservar as riquezas que foram crescendo na fé da Igreja e de oração, e dar-lhes seu devido lugar ... "

Today, our personal favorite in the Vatican (and great friend of Rome students), Raymond Leo Cardinal Burke sang Pontifical Mass at the Church of St. Mary of Nazareth on Rome's Via di Boccea, just west of the Vatican, at Casalotti (http://www.smnazareth.com/).

This parish, staffed by the Franciscan Friars of the Immaculate, is located in the historical Suburbicarian Diocese of Porto - Santa Rufina.

Many thanks to His Eminence for his leadership and constant generosity, to the Franciscans of the Immaculate for hosting the Mass and for doing such fine work at this parish as well as to His Excellency Gino Reali, Bishop of Porto - Santa Rufina, who came from La Storta to be present.

Cardinale Raymond Leo Burke : la Sacra Liturgia è l’azione di Gesù Cristo. vivo nel Suo Corpo Mistico per l’effusione dello Spirito Santo; è il Suo dono a noi. Siamo chiamati così nel tempo attuale ad accogliere l’insegnamento e la disciplina che il nostro Santo Padre Benedetto XVI ci ha dato nella sua Lettera Apostolica Summorum Pontificum, per la quale egli ha voluto restaurare la forma del Rito della Messa per esprimere più pienamente ed efficacemente la verità della Sacra Liturgia.

  Riporto alcuni stralci dell'omelia pronunciata il 26 dicembre dal zelantissimo Cardinale Raymond Leo Burke, presso la parrocchia Santa Maria di Nazareth di Roma, su gentile invito di Mons. Gino Reali, Vescovo della Diocesi suburbicaria di Porto - Santa Rufina (entrambi nella foto a lato).

Dopo il Concilio Ecumenico Vaticano II, ma non in ragione del Concilio, la modalità di riforma del Rito della Messa per certi versi ha abbastanza oscurato l’azione divina nella Santa Messa, unendo cielo e terra, e ha indotto alcuni al pensiero erroneo che la Santa Liturgia è una nostra attività, che in qualche senso noi abbiamo inventato e con la quale allora noi possiamo fare esperimenti.

La verità della Sacra Liturgia è ben diversa. Infatti, la Sacra Liturgia è l’azione di Gesù Cristo, vivo nel Suo Corpo Mistico per l’effusione dello Spirito Santo; è il Suo dono a noi, che dobbiamo ricevere, apprezzare e salvaguardare secondo le indicazioni dei nostri Pastori e specialmente del Santo Padre, il Vicario di Cristo sulla terra, e perciò Pastore della Chiesa Universale. Siamo chiamati così nel tempo attuale ad accogliere l’insegnamento e la disciplina che il nostro Santo Padre Benedetto XVI ci ha dato nella sua Lettera Apostolica Summorum Pontificum, per la quale egli ha voluto restaurare la forma del Rito della Messa per esprimere più pienamente ed efficacemente la verità della Sacra Liturgia.

Una volta che le pareti si rompono, chi può fermare le inondazioni? Chi può prevedere dove le acque andranno? Non assumeranno esse vita propria, libere di fluire da ogni parte? Tale sarà il flusso degli eventi una volta che le pareti saranno perforate, le pareti deboli e vacillanti che molti sanno incapaci di trattenere la piena degli eventi.

Ci saranno molte inondazioni, tutte convergenti e si aiuteranno l’un l’altra nei loro percorsi distruttivi. La convergenza è intenzionale, il disegno del Maligno che ha tracciato questo momento da secoli.

Egli ritiene che i suoi piani siano infallibili. Ha posizionato le persone che ha bisogno come leader. Ha suscitato i cuori di milioni di persone che sono pronte a rispondere al suo segnale. Egli ha indebolito tutte le risorse che possono essere usate contro di lui. Egli ha portato le nazioni occidentali nel debito finanziario. Egli ha indebolito la volontà di milioni con i loro stili di vita peccaminosi. Egli ha ucciso milioni di bambini nel ventre delle loro madri.

Non è forse questo un quadro reale? Chi può argomentare contro di me? Chi può sostenere le posizioni opposte? Tutte queste forze forse non continueranno? Chi invertirà la tendenza? Questa è la mia sorpresa, la promessa che scorre dalle regioni più profonde del mio Cuore Immacolato.

Per Satana, i suoi piani sembrano perfetti, impeccabili ed inevitabili. Ma anche lui sa che la Donna è il suo nemico e che lei sta in disparte, ancora non invocata o comunque invitata ad intervenire nel pieno nella battaglia.

Questa è la mia promessa. Come gli eventi inizieranno (e ricordate: ci sarà una serie di eventi) verrà creata un’apertura. Saranno sollevate voci. “Perché la Russia non è stata consacrata come la Madonna ha chiesto?” Altri eventi, all’interno della Chiesa, coincideranno. Infine, la consacrazione della Russia avrà luogo. Un diluvio sorprendente sarà rilasciato. Ci saranno poi due alluvioni, una del bene e l’altra del male, di distruzione una e l’altra di salvezza.

Commento: La Madonna descrive la prima alluvione che tutti possiamo vedere. Promette un secondo diluvio delle sue benedizioni, quando la Russia sarà stata consacrata.

7. The Two Floods

Once the walls break down, who can stop the floods?  Who can even predict where the waters will go?  Do they not take on their own life, set free to flow anywhere?  Such will be the flow of events once the walls are pierced, the weak and tottering walls that many know cannot hold back the floods of events.

There will be many floods, all converging and aiding one another in their destructive paths.  The convergence is deliberate, the design of the Evil One who has plotted out this moment for centuries.

He believes that his plans are foolproof.  He has arranged the people whom he needs as leaders.  He has stirred up the hearts of millions who are ready to respond to his signal.  He has weakened all the resources that can be used against him.  He has led Western nations into financial debt.  He has weakened the resolve of millions by their sinful lifestyles.  He has slain millions of children in the wombs of their mothers.

Is this not a true picture?  Who will argue against me?  Who will defend the opposite positions?  Will not all of these forces continue?  Who will reverse the tide?  This is my surprise, the promise which flows from the deepest regions of my Immaculate Heart.

To Satan, his plans seem perfect, flawless and inevitable.  But even he knows that the Woman is his enemy and that she stands on the sidelines, still not invoked or invited to come full into the battle.

This is my promise.  As the events begin (and remember there will be a series of events) an opening will be created.  Voices will be raised.  “Why has Russia not been consecrated as Our Lady has asked?”  Other events, within the Church, will coincide.  Finally, the consecration of Russia will take place.  A surprising flood will be released.  There will then be two floods, good and evil, one destroying and the other saving.

Comment:  Our Lady describes the first flood which we can all see.  She promises a second flood of her blessings when Russia has been consecrated.

6. Israel and Iran

Where do all these events lead?  I must again speak of Israel, the forgotten nation in the Middle East conflicts.  Satan has his eyes on Jerusalem.  Jerusalem is his prize.  There he was defeated and cast out.  God’s blood still abides in that city and it has never lost its place in my heart.

The fires that ravage the Middle East are really aimed at Israel and its destruction.  Satan has never lost sight of that goal.  Other world leaders have set Israel aside and have jeopardized its existence.  They have even signed treaties with Iran which has pledged to destroy Israel.

World leaders walk in such darkness that Satan easily plans his steps.  They do not grasp what is of true value.  So, I must speak.  Israel sees itself abandoned.  Its enemies are protected.  Its friends are absorbed with other goals.  It stands alone.  Better than any other nation, Israel knows the dangers that imperil its existence.  It sees that it cannot wait.  Others will not act in its defense, so it will act on its own.  It cannot allow the tide to continue to flow in.  It cannot allow these events to take their course, because their course is the destruction of Israel.

In Israel’s eyes, everything is clear.  Its enemies are strong and near.  Its friends show no interest and are powerless to put out the Middle East fires.  So, it must act in its own defense.  It cannot allow a nuclear Iran.

Comment:   Our Lady says that Israel will take whatever steps are needed to prevent Iran from getting nuclear arms.

L'eterna bellezza del Rito romano antico

Leggo su Paix Liturgique by Tradinews [qui] il testo dell'omelia pronunciata - in parte in italiano e in parte in inglese - da Sua Eminenza il Cardinale Burke, il 25 ottobre 2014, nel corso del Pontificale celebrato nella Basilica di San Pietro al termine della solenne processione del Coetus Summorum Pontificum.
Pubblicheremo poi le edificanti riflessioni del CNSP a consuntivo del III Pellegrinaggio Internazionale recentemente conclusosi.
Traduco da quel testo francese, l'unico a disposizione, per poter condividere. 

Anche noi ringraziamo il Signore per i "grandi cardinali" che appoggiano e celebrano il Rito antiquior - come esprime Benedetto XVI nella sua lettera [qui] agli organizzatori del pellegrinaggio Summorum Pontificum - attraverso il quale la liturgia tradizionale è stata sdoganata dalla sua cattività Babilonese ed è ricomparsa dopo 40 anni anche a Roma e nella Basilica Vaticana. Anche se occorre pregare e continuare a promuoverla, come già si sta facendo nonostante i pesanti ostruzionismi, perché essa è e sarà la fonte di tutte le grazie di cui abbiamo bisogno noi e la Chiesa tutta.

Avete lasciato le vostre case e la vostra normale attività per venire in pellegrinaggio verso un luogo straordinario, la Sede di Pietro, motivati dalla gratitudine al Signore per il dono più bello per noi nella Chiesa, quello della Santa liturgia. Perché è il successore di Pietro, che ha la responsabilità di preservare e promuovere questo dono per tutto il gregge, sparso attraverso il mondo intero. Ringraziate in modo particolare il Signore, per la bellezza eterna della forma tradizionale dei riti liturgici della Chiesa latina, la « ricchezza della liturgia romana » che Papa Benedetto XVI, nella sua Lettera apostolica Summorum Pontificum motu proprio data del 7 Luglio 2007 [qui], « ha reso più accessibile alla Chiesa universale »(1). Con la Messa pontificale celebrata secondo la forma straordinaria del rito romano in questa magnifica basilica costruita sulla tomba di San Pietro, il vostro pellegrinaggio ha raggiunto il vertice.

A Itália se levanta. A colegialidade se volta contra Bergoglio.

Nem tudo são flores para Bergoglio.

Depois da histórica derrota no sínodo dos bispos, em que, apesar de todas as arquitetadas manobras da dupla Bergoglio & Baldisseri, não se conseguiu a maioria qualitativa superior a dois terços para que se aprovassem as teses de sua “revolução de outubro”, agora aparece uma silenciosamente ensurdecedora manifestação de resistência.

A Conferência Episcopal Italiana (CEI) rejeitou para a vice-presidência da Itália Central, nada mais, nada menos, que o badalado secretário do Sínodo dos Bispos, Mons. Bruno Forte, autor delatado da “apologia gay” no relatório preliminar do Sínodo, derrotado com 60 votos contra os 140 de Mons. Mario Meini, bispo diocesano de Fiesole.

Foi uma bela resposta dos bispos italianos!

Já o Cardeal Francis Georges, arcebispo emérito de Chicago, no contexto da recente nomeação de seu sucessor, um bispo progressista inexpressivo, declarou ao The New York Times: “Gostaria de me sentar com ele (Francisco) e dizer: ‘Santo Padre, primeiramente, obrigado por me deixar aposentar. Eu poderia fazer algumas questões sobre as suas intenções?”…

… E a Assembleia do Episcopado Americano está apenas começando.

Toda esta revolução propulsionada por Francisco está promovendo, na verdade, um grande efeito colateral: os mornos estão se esquentando, e aqueles que há muito tempo não defendiam com brios a fé e a disciplina da Igreja estão reagindo.

Bispos se levantando para defender a fé a custa de seus cargos e posições pessoais é coisa que não se via há muito tempo!!!! Cabeças rolando por todos os lados…, mas cabeças não vendidas!

Fingindo usar a estratégia da colegialidade, no final das contas, Bergoglio precisa cada vez mais deixar em evidência o seu absolutismo. Aquelas suas palavras conclusivas do sínodo dos bispos são cada vez menos “casuais”:

“O Papa não é o senhor supremo mas, ao contrário, o supremo servidor — o ‘servus servorum Dei’; o garante da obediência e da conformidade da Igreja com a vontade de Deus, o Evangelho de Cristo e a Tradição da Igreja, pondo de lado qualquer arbítrio pessoal, embora seja — por vontade do próprio Cristo — o ‘supremo Pastor e Doutor de todos os fiéis’ (cân. 749), e goze ‘na Igreja de poder ordinário, supremo, pleno, imediato e universal’ (cf. cânn. 331-334)”.

Não é que o “bispo de Roma” resolveu, de repente, mostrar que é “Papa”?… “Suspeitei desde o princípio!”.

O encontro foi organizado pela “Una Voce Áustria”.

Em sua apresentação, o Cardeal Burke explicou que o livro é uma resposta à proposta do Cardeal Walter Kasper, que “defendeu uma mudança no ensinamento e na prática constantes da Igreja” com relação ao matrimônio. Segundo Burke, Kasper pediu diálogo, e os cinco cardeais responderam apresentando estudos verossímeis.

No Sínodo sobre a Família. o Cardeal Burke viu “o esquecimento quase completo do Magistério”: “Foi como se pela primeira vez a Igreja estivesse tratando da questão do matrimônio e ensinando a respeito dele, ao passo que, tanto em sua doutrina quanto em sua disciplina, a Igreja tem pelo matrimônio o apreço mais rico que se possa encontrar.” O cardeal mencionou a “Familiaris consortio” de João Paulo II, a “Humanae vitae” do Papa Paulo VI e a “Casti cannubii”, do Papa Pio XI.

Burke lembrou ao público que a Igreja tem 2000 anos de tradição: “Hoje em dia agimos como se estivéssemos criando a Igreja do nada.” 

Para Burke, o relatório preliminar do Sínodo foi “um dos documentos mais tristes que eu jamais poderia imaginar partir da Igreja”: “Muitos de nós estávamos horrorizados com essa ideia que foi apresentada no relatório, ou seja, de que de alguma maneira pode haver elementos bons em atos de pecado mortal. Isso é impossível.”

Além disso, o Cardeal Burke criticou uma ruptura entre a doutrina e a disciplina: “Uma das ideias mais insidiosas na apresentação do Cardeal Kasper e nas discussões do Sínodo é que: ‘Sim, nós defendemos a doutrina da Igreja com relação à indissolubilidade do matrimônio.’ Até mesmo dizendo: ‘Quem iria questionar a doutrina da indissolubilidade do matrimônio? Estamos falando sobre uma questão de disciplina.’ Em outras palavras: O matrimônio é indissolúvel, acreditamos nisso. Porém, em certos casos, quando uma pessoa está casada diante de Deus, mas o casamento falhou de uma maneira ou de outra (sem qualquer comentário sobre de quem é a culpa), mas essa pessoa, de maneira consciente e intencional,  tentou um outro matrimônio e está vivendo com alguém que não é o seu marido ou mulher, em alguns desses casos não defendemos a indissolubilidade do matrimônio. Admitimos pessoas ao sacramento da confissão e à santa comunhão.”

Essa ideia – enfatizou o Cardeal Burke – “deve ser uma negação da indissolubilidade do matrimônio”: “Quando alguém vai à confissão, por exemplo, e confessa um pecado, essa pessoa tem o firme propósito de emendar-se, caso contrário ela não poderá se confessar vailidamente. Como é que uma pessoa que está vivendo em uma união adúltera faz esse tipo de confissão – quando ele ou ela tem a intenção de permanecer nessa situação? Esses são fatos simples.”

O Cardeal expressou-se com muita clareza: “A disciplina da Igreja nunca pode ser contrária à sua doutrina.” 

“Qualquer tipo de discussão que tente dizer que Igreja pode defender o seu ensinamento sobre o matrimônio e a indissolubilidade do matrimônio e ao mesmo tempo negue essa verdade em sua prática – que simplesmente não é católica –, não vai dar bom resultado. Isso é inaceitável.”

O Cardeal Burke mencionou então “um dos grandes refrãos” no Sínodo: “A cultura mudou tão radicalmente que simplesmente não podemos ensinar da maneira como fazíamos no passado.” Mas, segundo o Cardeal Burke, isso é “a falta de esperança e fé em Jesus Cristo”.

Como padre e bispo, Burke, de acordo com suas próprias palavras, encontrou-se com muitos casais que estão vivendo a verdade sobre o matrimônio, indo contra a cultura, em uma sociedade secularizada: “Porém, essa verdade está completamente esquecida. Sim, a cultura está muito corrompida. Ninguém nega isso. Mas não corremos atrás dela. Nós trazemos para a cultura aquilo que pode salvá-la.”

On Nov. 8, the Vatican announced that Pope Francis had removed Cardinal Raymond Burke, one of the strongest pro-life and pro-family voices in the Catholic Church, from his position as the prefect of the Vatican’s Apostolic Signatura. Cardinal Burke has instead been named patron of the Sovereign Military Order of Malta, a largely ceremonial role.

For the past 6 years, Cardinal Burke has served at the Vatican, after he was called there by Pope Benedict, heading up the highest court of the Catholic Church. 

Among Cardinal Burke’s many actions in defense of the truths of life and family has been his courageous stance in support of canon 915, which states that ministers of communion “must” refuse the Eucharist to public and “obstinate” sinners. The cardinal himself has most frequently advocated the use of this canon in the cases of pro-abortion Catholic politicians.

Most recently, he exerted his influence during the Vatican’s Synod on the Family, publicly decrying efforts by some bishops to hijack the synod to push a radical agenda, and steering the Synod towards a more orthodox conclusion.

The transfer of Cardinal Burke from his Vatican post is undoubtedly a loss to the pro-life and pro-family movement, with his role at the Vatican having helped to amplify the cardinal’s prophetic voice.

However, we are confident that the transfer will do little to silence the cardinal, and that we may look forward to years more of close collaboration with and support for the pro-life and pro-family movement.

We offer this petition to give people an opportunity to express their personal thanks to the cardinal. The names and signatures on this petition will be personally hand-delivered to Cardinal Burke in Rome.

I have been watching the online petition in support of Card. Burke as a “Thank you!” for his service.

It’s time to really fire this up.  This is an ACTION ITEM!
