Pontifical Mass, Kražiai, Lithuania

Ad Fontes - Tenth Liturgical Study Week Hosted in Lithuania

The 10th Ad Fontes liturgical study week was recently held in the town of Kražiai in Lithuania, taking place from July 31st to August 7th.

Wonderfully, the daily schedule of the Ad Fontes study sessions are based around the various hours of the Divine Office, times of Lectio Divina and Mass.

This year's courses included, "Theology of the Holy Mass" by Fr. William Barker, FSSP (of Ss. Trinita in Rome), "The Phenomenology of Gregorian Chant" by Prof. Eugeen Liven d’Abelardo (Guest Professor of the University of Music and Performing Arts, Graz and the Norwegian University of Science and Technology) with Fr. Uwe Michael Lang, cong.orat. as a special guest speaker. Chant sessions were also offered by Romualdas Gražinis (of “Schola Cantorum Vilnensis”), Prof. Eugeen Liven d’Abelardo (of “Schola Cantorum Amsterdam” and the professional ensemble “Hartkeriana”) and Vilma Adrija Čepaitė (MA of the University of Music and Performing Arts, Graz).

A children's set of courses, based on the Justine Ward Method of teaching Gregorian Chant, was also offered over the course of the week.

Here are a few photos from the event. First, some from the sessions themselves and a few from the conversations which occured around the various events -- an aspect of such conferences that I always find to be a great value.
