I. FSSP

Denton - On January 28, 2012, Bishop Fabian Bruskewitz ordained 7 seminarians to the subdiaconate. Photos can be found on the FSSP main website. (Link)

Wigratzbad - On February 11, 2012, Msgr. Juan Ignacio Arrieta Ochoa de Chinchetru, Titular Bishop of Civitate and Secretary of the Pontifical Council for Legislative Texts, conferred the minor orders of Porter and Lector on 13 seminarians, the minor orders of Exorcist and Acolyte on another 13 seminarians, and the Subdiaconate on 7 seminarians. Msgr. Arrieta Ochoa de Chinchetru was a numerary priest of Opus Dei prior to his episcopal appointment. 

II. Institute of Christ the King - Sovereign Priest

On January 29, 2012, Bishop Luciano Giovannetti, the Bishop-Emeritus of Fiesole, conferred diaconal ordination on two subdeacons of the Institute of Christ the King. The ordinations took place in the Institute's seminary-chapel in Gricigliano. Pictures of the Solemn Pontifical Mass of Ordination can be found here.

Present at the Solemn Pontifical Mass was Msgr. Marco Agostini, an official in the Vatican Secretariat of State and one of the Papal Masters of Ceremonies. Rorate readers might remember that Msgr. Agostini is the first cerimoniere pontificio to publicly celebrate the Traditional Latin Mass since 1970 and that he offered Solemn Mass only last Sunday in the Seminary of the Archdiocese of Trent -- an event that was received by the Archdiocese with "perplexity".

III. Institute of the Good Shepherd

On February 11, Bishop Athanasius Schneider, Auxiliary Bishop of Maria Santissima in Astana, conferred minor orders on some seminarians of the Institute of the Good Shepherd in the its seminary in Courtelain. He also ordained two new subdeacons and one new priest (a Pole) for the Institute. El Cardenal Alfons Stickler fue prefecto emérito de la Biblioteca Vaticana y sus archivos. Actuó como especialista, como perito, en la Comisión de Liturgia del Concilio Vaticano II. Fue elevado al colegio cardenalicio por el Papa Juan Pablo II en l985. Este ensayo apareció originalmente en Die heilige Liturgie (Steyr, Austria: Ennsthaler Verlag, 1997, Franz Breid ed). La presente es una traducción de la versión en inglés aparecida en diciembre de 1998 en la revista norteamericana "Latin Mass", llevada a cabo por Thomas E. Ecco alcune foto, scattate da un fedele, della Santa Messa Solenne nel rito romano antico celebrata domenica scorsa a Trento da mons. Marco Agostini, cerimoniere pontificio, con l’ausilio di Don Rinaldo Bombardelli, che celebra ogni domenica, alle 18, preso la chiesa del Suffragio di Trento .
La Divina Provvidenza ha disposto che alla celebrazione della Santa Messa nell’antico rito, pubblicizzata con molta semplicità e “submissa voce”, non invece della messa rock pubblicizzata "elata voce", dalla gerarchia diocesana sul loro settimanale Vita Trentina, fossero stati presenti circa 300 fedeli di cui moltissimi giovani.
Ringraziamo il Signore per questa bella , spontanea e significativa testimonianza di fede .

Be Thou Peter! Fr. Gommar A. DePauw, J.C.D, President of the Catholic Traditionalist Movement

This letter was originally sent to Pope Paul VI as a private communication between a priest and the Supreme Pontiff who, two years earlier, had blessed and commissioned him as leader of the Catholic Traditionalist Movement (C.T.M.). Only after waiting for three months, when the C.T.M. was informally notified that no formal “fatherly reply” could be expected, was it decided to make the letter public, both in print and on tape, under the title “Be Thou Peter!” Soon translated worldwide into Dutch, French, German, Italian and Spanish, the 1967-letter became, and still stands today, as the unequalled “anguished cry” of the post-Vatican II “Suffering Church.” TIA reproduces here important excerpts of this letter, which was sent to Pope Paul VI on August 15, 1967, by Father Gommar A. DePauw, J.C.D, President of the Catholic Traditionalist Movement The subtitles were added by TIA’s website desk Your Holiness: I still vividly remember that December 1, 1965 evening when Your Holiness personally blessed me and my work with the traditionalist Catholics who selected me to be their spokesman …. I equally remember how Your Holiness literally begged me to urge the Catholics I was to lead in their fight for “TRUTH and TRADITION,” not to lose faith in the Church. And Your Holiness justified that request by stating: “Once the dust stirred up by the recent Ecumenical Council will have settled down, the Church will come out of all this with renewed strength and vigor.” May I humbly submit that during this past year and a half I have labored as hard as any human individual could to do precisely what Your Holiness asked me to do: to keep the faith in our Church alive among those Catholics who had justifiedly become alarmed to the point of publicly asking themselves and others: “What, in the name of God, is happening to our Catholic Church?!” And may I add that one of the principal aspects of my efforts to keep that faith in our Church alive has consistently been the stressing of belief in the divine foundation of the Roman Papacy and respectful loyalty to its present incumbent, Your Holiness, Paul VI. Already then, December 1, 1965, Your Holiness asked me to realize that our Church was going through “one of the gravest crises in her history.” If such a description of our Church’s condition was true then, how much more can the same be said of our Church today! To say that it has gone from bad to worse would be the understatement of the century. Today's condition of the Catholic Church is beyond the point of doctrinal heresy, factual schism, and even apostasy. It is in a state of chaos and utter collapse resulting from the systematic destruction of first our liturgical and other traditions, and now our very beliefs and morals …. The liturgical reform Shortly after the Council, ballet dancers perform before the "table" at the "drama of the Mass"Informations Catholiques Internationales, July 1, 1967 In open violation of all past and present liturgical directives, the Roman Catholic Liturgy, once the envy of all other religions, has for all practical purposes been destroyed. And it gives us very little personal satisfaction to know that all those responsible for this destruction were in advance irrevocably anathematized by the still valid solemn decree of the Council of Trent: “If anyone says that the Mass ought to be celebrated in the vernacular only, let him be cursed.”(Canons of the Most Holy Sacrifice of the Mass, n. 9.) Coercive changes have subrogated our traditional practices with the “litniks”of our Church Establishment daily intensifying their attempts to subjugate the “people of God” to becoming “Protestant” Catholics. Jazz at Saint-Germain-des-Pres in Paris, 1969 ICI, March 1, 1969 Our churches are no longer Catholic in appearance, atmosphere, or aim. Tables looking like butcher blocks or ironing boards have replaced our altars in perfect harmony with the 16th century Protestant Reformation directives bent on destroying the belief in the dogma of Transubstantiation and the sacrificial nature of the Mass and replacing it with a symbolical trans-signification-communal meal. Our Holy Mass has disappeared an in its place our people are offered a holy mess of vernacularized vacuum stripped of the surety, serenity, uniformity, and dignity of our traditional Latin liturgy. Hymns associated with the anti-Catholic rebellions of Luther, Calvin and Wesley have unceremoniously uprooted our cherished Catholic hymns to our God and the Blessed Mother, while our uniquely Catholic Gregorian and polyphonic music has been discarded for sounds and instruments sometimes borrowed from the decadent milieu of young human animals. Paul VI gives Communion to a standing man even before the Council ended ICI, April 1, 1965 Communion rails are ripped out and Holy Communion is refused to the “people of God” unless they stand (not kneel) to receive Him at the mention of Whose name all knees should bend, if one is still to trust the text of the “unrevised” New Testament we were given at one time in our Catholic institutions. The Most Blessed Sacrament, to be reserved in “the central place of honor” according to the legitimate liturgical directives, is relegated to an obscure shoe box-type niche, playing much less than second fiddle to the throne-type chair of the presiding clerical Buddha set up in dead center of a religious flavored discotheque-barn, from which the traditional statues and Stations of the Cross have been shipped to the nearest auction gallery or antiques shop. A steadily increasing number of once unsuspecting Catholics are suddenly realizing that, as we predicted more than two years ago, they are gradually, first with subtle and then with increasing bold changes in the liturgy, being ushered into a humanistic rite of a universal brotherhood meal expressive of the existentialist pantheistic concepts of an illuminated “one-world-religion” preparing the way for a Communist controlled “one-world-government.” The aggiornamento changed dogmatic and moral precepts But, not only our liturgical traditions have been destroyed. The very beliefs and morals of our Catholic heritage are now up for grabs in our so-called “Church of the Aggiornamento.” Steadily, day in and day out since Vatican II, silt has subversively been shunted in to the minds of the Roman Catholics in America. Our “Catholic” universities, seminaries, and colleges are bluntly rejecting the religious character that justifies their existence, and their teachers of the “new theology” are calling into question, if not outright rejecting, every tenet of our doctrinal heritage …. Sunday after Sunday our traditional dogmas and moral precepts are denigrated with pseudo-modern preachments of Socialism or worse emanating from our pulpits occupied by “new breed” clergymen, whose pathological obsession with sex has brought them to the low point of not only advocating the end of clerical celibacy, but even of condoning Fornication, homosexuality, trial marriages, artificial birth control, divorce, and abortion. Our Church Establishment's press and radio and television presentations are totally captured by the same heretical forces. And our once respected nuns not only have become nonentity “nones” with absurdity of demeanor and dress, but are sabotaging the religious instruction of our youngsters and children by replacing our traditional catechisms with brain-washing religion (?) books subtly poisoning the minds of our coming generations into gradual acceptance of first a unitarian, then a pantheistic, and finally an atheistic philosophy of life. While some of our American Cardinals and Bishops are way in front of these apostatic hordes of religious rioters, the rest of our Hierarchy are burying their heads in the sand, rocking their consciences to sleep with the proverbial “Everything will be O.K.!” or trying to compensate for the trust and respect they no longer command among their own Catholic people by hob-nobbing with those outside-the-fold merely to produce nothing but a superficial inter-faith harmony built on the swift sand of doctrinal compromise and false hopes. Your Holiness, we traditionalist Catholics see the evil visibly extant and reject any portion of that evil! Rejection of the Conciliar Church Your Holiness …. taking a closer look at the “Conciliar” church forced upon us in the name of Vatican II, and simply judging the tree by its fruits, we are tempted to agree with one of your own immediate collaborators in Rome who has been quoted as characterizing the recent Vatican Council as “a sinister farce acted out by a number of good-for-nothings, some of whom, despite the gold crosses on their chests, don't even believe in the Holy Trinity or the Virgin.” Your Holiness, we were, we are, and we intend to remain members of the CATHOLIC Church, and we refuse to become absorbed into any new CONCILIAR church! WE CONDEMN AND REJECT THE CONCILIAR CHURCH! In spite of all the gigantic and expensive promotional techniques used to “sell” it, the “Conciliar” church fails to fascinate the public, and refuses to spiritually refresh the individual. Instead it is repugnant to the point of rejection so tragically evident in the all-time low of our conversion rate and religious vocations, and the pathetic trek of our most loyal and devout Catholics transferring the almost snuffed out candle of traditional Catholic beliefs and practices from our desecrated churches to the underground sanctuary of their hearts and homes. Responsibility of Paul VI Your Holiness, if no IMMEDIATE ACTION is taken by YOU, the public reality of the Catholic religion will phase out very soon. Already the memory of a “real” Mass is fading away from the minds of our younger generation, while their elders are growing indifferent or bitter over a Church which, if all her former beliefs and practices were so irrelevant as to be replaced so quickly and drastically, they prefer to forget as the biggest hoax ever on record. At the Vatican Paul VI opens the first session of the first Synod, September 29, 1967 ICI, October 15, 1967 Your Holiness, take one last, hard look at the dying embers of your Church and ours! And decide, bluntly and honestly, whether you wish to be a POPE, Vicar of Jesus Christ, Supreme Pontiff of the one true Church, or to perpetuate your current image of the BISHOP of Rome, the first among equals, with a place of HONOR but without authority within the ranks of a so-called “college” of Bishops ….. We of the C.T.M. still refuse to join the increasing number of Catholics all over the world who accuse you of being part of the team out to destroy the Church we once knew, and of being less interested in remaining the Supreme Pontiff of Christ's one true Church than in becoming the Chief-Chaplain of a new one-world religion in the service of a one-world government. We of the C.T.M. still have pent up in the reserve of our hearts the enthusiastic loyalty we, traditionalist Catholics, exclusively set apart for our Supreme Pontiff. And we would like nothing better than to forget the past four years and shower our loyalty on a Paul VI turned into a new Saint Pius X who had the courage to face the reality of enemies within our own ranks and the integrity to condemn them. The first four years of your pontificate, Your Holiness, have been disappointing to the most loyal of your sons and daughters. But, late as it is, you still have the opportunity to once more be capable instead of culpable. Practical suggestions May we, the traditionalist Catholics whose unworthy spokesman I am, help Your Holiness out of the impasse your enemies cornered you into, by humbly submitting to you the following requests: Vatican II must be annulled. Publicly announce via all available international public media that you are again exercising the prerogatives of the Supreme Pontiff of Christ's One True Church, and that the interregnum of Vatican II is over …. [The Vatican II turned out to be a horrible mistake.] Maybe it was precisely the fear of this horrendous possibility that caused the Holy Ghost to have Pope John declare from the very start that Vatican II, unlike all previous Ecumenical Councils, was not a DOCTRINAL Council but simply a PASTORAL one, thus leaving the door open for any future Pope to eradicate it from the records. Your Holiness, when honest people commit a blunder they admit it and try to undo it as quickly as possible. Vatican II has so far produced nothing but confusion and disunity among the people of God's Church. It takes humility and courage to admit that even a Pope, outside the realm of his infallible ex cathedra definitions, can commit a blunder. But it is this kind of humility that endears a truly great leader to his subjects. Even so, you know better than all of us together that to lose face is nothing compared to losing souls. * The doctrine of collegiality must be rescinded Against tradition, Paul VI wore a simple mitre rather than the tiara to give his blessing on Easter day   ICI, May 1, 1965 Rescind that falsely interpreted and abused “Collegiality” decree IMMEDIATELY and PERMANENTLY. The burden of the Papacy cannot be shared and was never intended to be. To Peter and to him alone were given the keys of the Kingdom. Peter and Peter ALONE was appointed to strengthen the faith of “his brethren,” the first bishops who governed the primitive Church not just WITH but UNDER Peter. Stop wearing that Bishop's mitre and place the papal tiara back on your anointed head where it was placed the day you accepted to serve as Christ's Vicar and Supreme Pontiff. You accepted the job; you have tasted the privileges – now, taste the responsibilities; they are the two sides of the same coin. Give us another opportunity to let the world know once again that: “HABEMUS PAPAM!” We have a Pope! * Avoid the bad advisors Stop accepting decisions made by your alleged “advisors.” Stand on your own two feet! These advisors have led you and the Church into the abyss of their anti-Christ activity. They have forced you into a world position of being apparently at ease in such impossible situations as your praying at the pantheistic monstrosity of the United Nations’ “meditation room,” your denying to the favorite visionary child of Fatima the favor granted to publicly known, unrepentant examples of degraded womanhood, your hobnobbing and exchanging symbols of religious authority with leaders of what still are heretical or schismatic sects, and above all, your lending respectability to the leaders of international Communism, which is still out to destroy our Church and all other religious bodies for that matter. Paul VI at the United Nations, 1965 ICI, October 15, 1972 Stop listening to the politically attuned and diabolical-oriented “advisors” who have infiltrated the highest echelons of our Church, exactly as Our Lady foretold in her last message of Fatima which has been unjustifiedly withheld from our Catholic people for seven years now …. * Listen to the true Catholics Listen instead to the genuine Roman Catholic, the traditionalist “man and woman in the pew” who want their Pope to act like a Pope; the same Catholic who continues to kneel when receiving his living God in Holy Communion; who still prays the Rosary to his Mother in Heaven; who still genuflects at the words “And the Word was made flesh by the Holy Ghost of the Virgin Mary: and was made man”; who still reads the Last Gospel of St. John in his or her worn-out missal; who still says the Leonine prayers after Mass for the conversion of Russia; who still abstains from meat on Fridays; who still goes to church on Sundays instead of Saturdays; in one word, the traditionalist Catholics who refuse to turn their backs on the Son of God for any son of man, despite the red or purple he proudly preens …. * Have courage… Your Holiness! In the name of Jesus Christ, your and our Lord and Saviour, have the courage to disperse the false shepherds and listen to your own conscience! Prove once again to friend and foe alike that the gates of Hell did indeed not prevail. Stir the embers of a dying Church and, with gallant despair, make her once more a House of Refuge in lieu of a house of refuse. Bind instead of grind the gnawing wounds of Christ's Mystical Body …. Final appeal Your Holiness! If we do not receive a satisfactory answer from Your Holiness or at least are given an opportunity to discuss our requests and proposals with Your Holiness personally - within the next month, we shall consider our requests denied and our proposals rejected, and draw the sad and tragic conclusion that Our Mother the Church has temporarily abandoned the best ones of her children. I pray to God and to His blessed Mother whose Assumption we commemorate today – and millions all over the world are joining me in this prayer – that such a dark and tragic day will never come. But, if we have no other choice, we will jealously protect the small but still burning candle of our traditional Catholic Faith, and patiently carry on our spiritual “Resistance” movement without the hoped-for papal approval …. Holy Father! Do no reject the best and most loyal ones of your sons and daughters! But, even if Paul VI would close his soul and heart to us – Quod Deus avertat! – we will not reject the Papacy! Abandoned by you, we would sorrowfully pray and wait for the day a new successor of St. Peter would open his arms again to those of his children whose only crime it was to live up to the admonition of your patron saint: “Even if an angel from Heaven should preach a gospel to you other than that which we have preached to you, let him be cursed.” (Gal 1: 8), or of those other early Church leaders who taught us: “We ought to obey God rather than men.” (Acts 5: 29) …. Prayerfully expecting Your Holiness' fatherly reply to this final anguished cry of today's “Suffering Church,” I beg to remain. Your loyal and devoted son in Jesus Christ, Fr. Gommar A. ...Balaustre e inginocchiatoi vengono strappati via e si rifiuta la Santa Comunione al "popolo di Dio" a meno che non si presenti in piedi (non inginocchiata) a ricevere Colui "al cui nome ogni ginocchio si pieghi"...

...Il Santissimo Sacramento, a cui è riservato "il posto d'onore più centrale" stando alle direttive sulla liturgia, è invece relegato in un'oscura nicchia a forma di scatola di scarpe, che pare ancor meno di un posto di seconda scelta rispetto alla sedia-trono del Buddha clericale che presiede, messa su nel centro morto di un ambiente discotecaro di sapore vagamente religioso, dal quale le tradizionali statue e stazioni della Via Crucis sono state vendute alla più vicina casa d'aste o al rigattiere...

...Tutto questo mentre nei seminari si insegna la nuova "non-santa trinità" composta da Marx, Freud e Teilhard de Chardin...

EL PAPA: A LOS NUEVOS CARDENALES SE LES CONFIA EL SERVICIO DEL AMOR POR DIOS, LA IGLESIA Y LOS HERMANOS

Ciudad del Vaticano, 18 febrero 2012 (VIS).-Esta mañana, a las 10.30, se ha celebrado en la Basílica Vaticana el Consistorio ordinario público en el que el Santo Padre ha creado 22 nuevos cardenales, a los que ha impuesto la birreta, ha entregado el anillo y ha asignado el título o diaconía. El de hoy es el cuarto consistorio en el pontificado de Benedicto XVI.

Después de la oración inicial y la proclamación del Evangelio, el Santo Padre pronunció una alocución de la que ofrecemos a continuación amplios extractos:

“Tu es Petrus, et super hanc petram aedificabo Ecclesiam meam”. (…) Estas palabras del canto de entrada nos introducen en el solemne y sugestivo rito del Consistorio (…). Son las palabras eficaces con las que Jesús constituyó a Pedro como fundamento firme de la Iglesia. La fe es el elemento característico de ese fundamento: en efecto, Simón pasa a  convertirse en Pedro —roca— al profesar su fe en Jesús, Mesías e Hijo de Dios”. (…)

“Las palabras que Jesús dirige a Pedro ponen de relieve claramente el carácter eclesial del acontecimiento de hoy. Los nuevos cardenales, en efecto, mediante la asignación del título de una iglesia de esta Ciudad o de una diócesis suburbicaria, son insertados con todo derecho en la Iglesia de Roma, guiada por el Sucesor de Pedro, para cooperar estrechamente con él en el gobierno de la Iglesia universal. (...) En esta delicada tarea,  les servirá de ejemplo y ayuda el testimonio de fe que el Príncipe de los Apóstoles dio con su vida y su muerte y que, por amor de Cristo, se dio por entero hasta el sacrificio extremo”.

“La imposición de la birreta roja ha de ser entendida también con este mismo significado. A los nuevos cardenales se les confía el servicio del amor: amor por Dios, amor por su Iglesia, amor por los hermanos con una entrega absoluta e incondicionada, hasta derramar su sangre si fuera preciso, como reza la fórmula de la imposición de la birreta e indica el color rojo de las vestiduras. Además, se les pide que sirvan a la Iglesia con amor y vigor, con la transparencia y sabiduría de los maestros, con la energía y fortaleza de los pastores, con la fidelidad y el valor de los mártires. Se trata de ser servidores eminentes de la Iglesia que tiene en Pedro el fundamento visible de la unidad”.

“En el pasaje evangélico que antes se ha proclamado, Jesús se presenta como siervo, ofreciéndose como modelo a imitar y seguir. (...) El servicio a Dios y a los hermanos, el don de sí: esta es la lógica que la fe auténtica imprime y desarrolla en nuestra vida cotidiana y que no es en cambio el estilo mundano del poder y la gloria”. (...)

El episodio del Evangelio de hoy, en el que Santiago y Juan piden a Jesús sentarse uno a su derecha y otro a su izquierda en su gloria (Mc 10,37), “ofrece a Jesús la ocasión de dirigirse a todos los discípulos y 'llamarlos hacia sí', casi para estrecharlos consigo, para formar como un cuerpo único e indivisible con Él y señalar cuál es el camino para llegar a la gloria verdadera, la de Dios: 'Sabéis que los que son reconocidos como jefes de los pueblos los tiranizan, y que los grandes los oprimen. No será así entre vosotros: el que quiera ser grande entre vosotros, que sea vuestro servidor; y el que quiera ser primero, sea esclavo de todos'” (Mc 10,42-44).

“Dominio y servicio, egoísmo y altruismo, posesión y don, interés y gratuidad: estas lógicas profundamente contrarias se enfrentan en todo tiempo y lugar. No hay ninguna duda sobre el camino escogido por Jesús: Él no se limita a señalarlo con palabras a los discípulos de entonces y de hoy, sino que lo vive en su misma carne. En efecto, explica: 'Porque el Hijo del hombre no ha venido a ser servido, sino a servir y dar su vida en rescate por la multitud' (v. 45). Estas palabras iluminan con singular intensidad el Consistorio público de hoy. Resuenan en lo más profundo del alma  y representan una invitación y un llamamiento, un encargo y un impulso especialmente para vosotros, queridos y venerados hermanos que estáis a punto de ser incorporados al Colegio cardenalicio”.

“Según la tradición bíblica, el Hijo del hombre es el que recibe el poder y el dominio de parte de Dios (cf. Dn 7,13s). Jesús interpreta su misión en la tierra sobreponiendo a la figura del Hijo del hombre la del Siervo sufriente descrito por Isaías (…) Su servicio se cumple en la fidelidad total y en la responsabilidad plena por los hombres. Por eso, la aceptación libre de su muerte violenta es el precio de la liberación para muchos, es el inicio y el fundamento de la redención de cada hombre y de todo el género humano”.

“Queridos hermanos que vais a ser incluidos en el Colegio cardenalicio: que el don total de sí ofrecido por Cristo sobre la cruz sea para vosotros principio, estímulo y fuerza, gracias a una fe que actúa en la caridad. Que vuestra misión en la Iglesia y en el mundo sea siempre y sólo 'en Cristo', que responda a su lógica y no a la del mundo, que esté iluminada por la fe y animada por la caridad que llegan hasta nosotros por la Cruz gloriosa del Señor. En el anillo que en unos instantes os entregaré, están representados los santos Pedro y Pablo, con una estrella en el centro que evoca a la Virgen. Llevando este anillo, estáis llamados cada día a recordar el testimonio de Cristo hasta la muerte que los dos Apóstoles han dado con su martirio aquí en Roma, fecundando con su sangre la Iglesia. Al mismo tiempo, el reclamo a la Virgen María será siempre para vosotros una invitación a seguir a aquélla que fue firme en la fe y humilde sierva del Señor”.

“Queridos hermanos y hermanas, rezad para que en ellos (los nuevos cardenales) se refleje de modo vivo nuestro único Pastor y Maestro, el Señor Jesús, fuente de toda sabiduría, que indica a todos el camino. Y pedid también por mí, para que pueda ofrecer siempre al Pueblo de Dios el testimonio de la doctrina segura y regir con humilde firmeza el timón de la santa Iglesia”.

Terminada su alocución, el Papa ha pronunciado la fórmula de creación de los nuevos cardenales, sus nombres y el orden diaconal o presbiteral al que han sido asignados. Los nuevos cardenales han recitado el Credo y el juramento de fidelidad y obediencia al Papa y a sus sucesores. Seguidamente, han recibido la birreta cardenalicia y el anillo de manos del Papa, que les ha asignado también el título o la diaconía.

Finalizado el rito, el Prefecto de la Congregación para las Causas de los Santos, cardenal Angelo Amato, ha introducido el consistorio ordinario público para la canonización de los beatos Jacques Berthieu, sacerdote profeso de la Compañía de Jesús, mártir; Pedro Calungsod, catequista laico, mártir; Giovanni Battista Piamarta, sacerdote y fundador de la congregación de la Sagrada Familia de Nazareth y de la congregación de las Hermanas Humildes Siervas del Señor; María del Monte Carmelo, fundadora de las hermanas de la Inmaculada Concepción Misioneras de la Enseñanza; Marianne Cope, religiosa de la Congregación de las Hermanas de la Tercera Orden de San Francisco de Syracusa (New York); Katherine Tekakwitha, laica, y Anna Schäffer, laica. cari fratelli e sorelle!

Con queste parole il canto d’ingresso ci ha introdotto nel solenne e suggestivo rito del Concistoro ordinario pubblico per la creazione dei nuovi Cardinali, l’imposizione della berretta, la consegna dell’anello e l’assegnazione del titolo. Sono le parole efficaci con le quali Gesù ha costituito Pietro quale saldo fondamento della Chiesa. Di tale fondamento la fede rappresenta il fattore qualificativo: infatti Simone diventa Pietro – roccia – in quanto ha professato la sua fede in Gesù Messia e Figlio di Dio. Nell’annuncio di Cristo la Chiesa viene legata a Pietro e Pietro viene posto nella Chiesa come roccia; ma colui che edifica la Chiesa è Cristo stesso, Pietro deve essere un elemento particolare della costruzione. Deve esserlo mediante la fedeltà alla sua confessione fatta presso Cesarea di Filippo, in forza dell’affermazione: «Tu sei il Cristo, il Figlio del Dio vivente».lLeggere...

Questa fotografia riproduce una cerimonia di enorme importanza simbolica: Paolo VI depone, definitivamente, la tiara sull’altare. È il grande obiettivo della Rivoluzione francese, attuato per mano di colui che sedeva sulla cattedra di Pietro; un risultato più importante della decapitazione di Luigi XVI, e anche della “breccia di Porta Pia”. Richiamiamo le parole del Pontefice della Massoneria Universale, Albert Pike: (Gli ispiratori, i filosofi e i capi storici della Rivoluzione francese avevano giurato di rovesciare la Corona e la Tiara sulla tomba di Jacques de Molay... Quando Luigi XVI fu giustiziato, la metà del lavoro era fatta; e quindi da allora l’Armata del Tempio doveva indirizzare tutti i suoi sforzi contro il Papato) (Albert Pike, Morals and Dogma, vol. VI, p. 156).
Undici mesi più tardi, Paolo VI completo' il suo atto di abdicazione rimettendo al Segretario Generale dell'ONU, M. U Thant, un birmano di alto grado massonico, i due altri simboli del suo Papato: l'ANELLO e la CROCE PETTORALE. In cambio, il 4 Ottobre 1965 ricevera' il simbolo di "Grande Sacerdote Ebreo" del Sanhèdrin (- Sinedrio): l'EPHOD, OSSIA IL PETTORALE CHE CAIFA PORTAVA AL MOMENTO DELLA CONDANNA DI NOSTRO SIGNORE.

Il 10 maggio 1970, in occasione dell'udienza concessa ai sei pastori protestanti che hanno collaborato all'elaborazione delNovus Ordo Missæ, Paolo VI, parlando del loro contributo ai lavori del Consilium liturgico, ebbe a dire: ...Vi siete particolarmente sforzati di dare più spazio alla Parola di Dio contenuta nella Sacra Scrittura; di apportare un più grande valore teologico ai testi liturgici, affinché la “lex orandi” (“la legge della preghiera”) concordi meglio con la “lex credendi” (“la legge della fede”)... (cfr. R. Coomaraswamy, Les problèmes de la nouvelle messe, Editions L'Age d'Homme, Losanna 1995, pag. 36). Non si capisce proprio come dei protestanti che negano la Presenza Reale di Nostro Signore Gesù Cristo nell'Eucarestia, l'essenza sacrificale della Messa, il sacerdozio ministeriale, la mediazione universale di Maria SS.ma e dei Santi, e altre verità di fede possano aver apportato «un più grande valore teologico ai testi liturgici...

“... adesso si ha la sensazione che sia
la traduzione di un servizio protestante”(J. Guitton - 1998)

Considerando la riforma liturgica della Messa, imposta dal Papa Paolo VI a tutta la Chiesa latina negli anni 70, Jean Guitton, modernista e massone, ha fatto, tra altre, le seguente affermazione:

1 – “Prima del concilio la Messa era la Messa. Evidentemente in latino, non ci capiva niente, ma si aveva l’impressione (impressione???) che fosse la Messa. Mentre adesso si ha la sensazione che sia la traduzione di un servizio protestante. Dal mio punto di vista, la riforma della liturgia così come l’ha voluta il concilio (Vaticano II) era buona; certo non voleva che la Messa, l’Eucaristia, fossero sacrificate, né sopratutto ridotte a quello che i protestanti fanno durante la loro cerimonia, che chiamamo la cena. Per esempio, quando si è deciso che il sacerdote non dicesse la messa rivolto all’altare, volgendo le spalle ai fedeli, ma di fronte loro, è stata compiuta una riforma decisiva che ha veramente turbato mlti cristiani. Con ragione (Con ragione???) — perché i fedeli comprendessero — si è voluto celebrare la liturgia nella lingua comune, ma senza volontà di abolire il sacro. Oggi, praticamente, l’Eucaristia non ha più il carattere sacro, serio e divino che aveva in passato. (...)”.

2 – “(...). Spesso mi domando se i sacerdoti che dicono messa credono veramente che nell’ostia ci sia il corpo e il sangue di Cristo. Sopratutto quando — terminata la funzione — li si vede scapare in fretta e furia dalla chiesa, come se con ciò avessero finito la loro giornata. Allora le persone si domandono se i sacerdoti credono veramente. Se i sacerdoti non credessero, infatti, perché mai dovrebbero essere loro a credere?” (Op. cit. p. 104. Il grossetto è nostro).

3 – Alla domanda di Francesca Pini se “quindi oggi la messa rischia di assomigliarsi a una liturgia della parola”, Guitton risponde:

“I protestanti non hanno questa idea del sacramento, della transustanziazione: essi ripetono ciò che ha fatto Gesù Cristo, ma in modo simbolico. La loro cena è una liturgia della parola, non è un atto che trasforma (trasforma o transustanzia???) il pane e il vino nel corpo e nel sangue di Cristo nel senso fondamentale del gesto, così come pensano (?) i cattolici. La Chiesa cattolica ha ragione di voler rendere la sua liturgia più accessibile e comprensibile ai protestanti, ma non può tuttavia abbandonare l’essenza del cattolicesimo: che nel pane e nel vino consacrati ci sono il corpo e il sangue di Cristo nel senso sostanziale, veritiero e profondo!”

Domandiamo: Jean Guitton, considerato il “più grande filosofo cattolico del seculo XX”, amico intimo di Paolo VI, presente nel concilio Vaticano II e l’unico laico che, in tutta la storia della Chiesa, ha avuto il diritto di parlare in un concilio, Guitton, nella sua critica alla “Nuova Messa” di Paolo VI, ha affermato, o no, una verità?

Come semplici cattolici laici, speriamo in una seria risposta, chiara e obbiettiva, particolarmente da parte dei teologi, a questa importante e attuale questione.

Il Cardinale Carlo Caffarra contro lo spettacolo blasfemo di Castellucci

 

Dichiarazione dell'Arcivescovo di Bologna

In relazione allo spettacolo blasfemo “Sul concetto di volto nel figlio di Dio”, offensivo nei confronti di Cristo e del sentimento religioso dei fedeli cattolici, di prossima programmazione a Casalecchio di Reno (BO), il Cardinale Arcivescovo ha comunicato:

«Dall’insulto alla sua Madre, rivoltole nella nostra città alcuni anni or sono, si passerà ora ad una rappresentazione teatrale obiettivamente blasfema nei confronti di Gesù e del suo Volto Santo. Siamo sdegnati e addolorati, come cittadini e come credenti. Come cittadini nel vedere che l’esercizio della libertà espressiva non conosce più neppure i limiti del rispetto dell’altro. Come credenti nel vedere inserito il Volto Santo – il quale gli angeli desiderano guardare – in uno spettacolo indegno, offensivo, e obiettivamente blasfemo e sacrilego.
Sacrilegio è anche trattare indegnamente i simboli sacri, così come la bestemmia si estende anche alle sante immagini. Vengono a mente le parole della Scrittura: «poiché hanno odiato la sapienza e non hanno amato il timore del Signore […] mangeranno il frutto della loro condotta e si sazieranno dei risultati delle loro decisioni» [Pr 1,29.31].
Dio continui ad usarci misericordia, anche quando giungiamo perfino al disprezzo del dono più grande che ci ha fatto: il suo Figlio unigenito. «Uomo dei dolori, davanti a cui ci si copre la faccia» [Is 53,3]. Cristo è sceso nelle più amare pieghe dell’umana angoscia; Dio ha voluto sperimentare il nostro duro mestiere di vivere. Ma per donarci speranza, per riportarci alla nostra primigenia verità e splendore. Vederlo disprezzato in questa sua sofferta bellezza, è spegnere ogni speranza. “Volto santo di Cristo, luce che rischiara le tenebre del dubbio e della tristezza, vita che ha sconfitto per sempre il potere del male e della morte … rendici pellegrini di Dio in questo mondo, assetati di infinito” [Benedetto XVI]. Sono sicuro che i buoni fedeli di Casalecchio in unione coi loro pastori sapranno reagire in modo fermo e composto. Chiedo ai parroci di Casalecchio di fare, dopo la celebrazione delle sante Messe feriali di venerdì e sabato, una preghiera di riparazione, nella forma e modo che riterranno più opportuno. Non escludano eventualmente la celebrazione della S. Messa «per la remissione dei peccati». E che Dio abbia pietà di noi!».

Jesuítas: tradición y cultura

 

En fecha reciente la Universidad jesuíta de Georgetown, en Washington, Estados Unidos, celebró una semana cultural con el nombre de Jesuit Heritage Week, que incluía una serie de actos relacionados con la espiritualidad y la historia de la Compañía de Jesús. Aspectos teológicos, misioneros, iconográficos, musicales. Uno de los actos estudió la relación entre la Misa tradicional y la espiritualidad ignaciana, e incluyó la celebración de la Santa Misa con la Forma Extraordinaria del Rito Romano, en la fiesta de San Juan de Brito, jesuíta misionero y mártir en el siglo XVII. El oficiante fue el padre Stephen Fields, SJ.

La web Salvem a Liturgia! publica un interesante artículo en lengua portuguesa, que trata de la asistencia de un obispo a la Santa Misa oficiada por otro sacerdote. Y contempla ambos casos: las formas extraordinaria y ordinaria del Rito Romano, por lo cual es interesante porque puede ayudar a organizar la asistencia de un prelado a Misa en su visita a alguna parroquia o comunidad.

En la forma extraordinaria no hay concelebración. En la forma ordinaria la concelebración es lo habitual, sin embargo puede haber casos que aconsejen que el obispo presida sin oficiar: por ejemplo para dar protagonismo a un sacerdote que celebre su aniversario sacerdotal, o las exequias de un familiar cercano.

Añadimos nosotros que tras la reforma litúrgica la opción de concelebrar se convirtió en casi obligatoria, de manera que muchos obispos y sacerdotes no saben asistir correctamente a la Santa Misa en coro. Y, sin embargo, qué bueno y conveniente para una mayor valoración del misterio eucarístico es que -como hicieron los Papas a lo largo de la historia- también en ocasiones los obispos y presbíteros asistan a la Misa oficiada por un hermano en el sacerdocio.

Boda tradicional en Chile

Amados Irmãos no Episcopado,

Com grande confiança e esperança, coloco nas vossas mãos de Pastores o texto duma nova Carta Apostólica «Motu Proprio data» sobre o uso da liturgia romana anterior à reforma realizada em 1970. O documento é fruto de longas reflexões, múltiplas consultas e de oração.

Notícias e juízos elaborados sem suficiente informação criaram não pouca confusão. Há reacções muito divergentes entre si que vão de uma entusiasta aceitação até uma férrea oposição a respeito de um projecto cujo conteúdo na realidade não era conhecido.

Contrapunham-se de forma mais directa a este documento dois temores, dos quais me quero ocupar um pouco mais detalhadamente nesta carta.

Em primeiro lugar, há o temor de que seja aqui afectada a autoridade do Concílio Vaticano II e que uma das suas decisões essenciais – a reforma litúrgica – seja posta em dúvida. Tal receio não tem fundamento. A este respeito, é preciso antes de mais afirmar que o Missal publicado por Paulo VI, e reeditado em duas sucessivas edições por João Paulo II, obviamente é e permanece a Forma normal – a Forma ordinária – da Liturgia Eucarística.

A última versão do Missale Romanum, anterior ao Concílio, que foi publicada sob a autoridade do Papa João XXIII em 1962 e utilizada durante o Concílio, poderá, por sua vez, ser usada como Forma extraordinária da Celebração Litúrgica. Não é apropriado falar destas duas versões do Missal Romano como se fossem «dois ritos». Trata-se, antes, de um duplo uso do único e mesmo Rito.Ler...

(16/2/2012) O cristão está chamado ao não conformismo, mantendo-se livre. Não se conformar com o poder das finanças e dos meios de comunicação, que, embora necessários, correm o risco de oprimir o homem. Observações do Papa aos seminaristas de Roma, nesta quarta-feira, à tarde, na costumada visita ao Seminário Maior romano, por ocasião da festa da padroeira, Nossa Senhora da Confiança.

Acolhido por 190 seminaristas dos diversos Seminários de Roma, Bento XVI deteve-se inicialmente em oração silenciosa diante do Santíssimo Sacramento, na capela do Seminário, onde decorreu o encontro.
Como vem sendo tradição, o Santo Padre comentou, em palavras improvisadas, em jeito de Lectio divina, uma passagem bíblica, desta vez da Carta de São Paulo aos Romanos, que convida os cristãos a oferecerem o próprio corpo como sacrifício vivo, santo e agradável a Deus, não se conformando com este mundo, deixando-se transformar para discernir a vontade de Deus, o que é bom e perfeito.

“Não se conformar – advertiu o Papa – não quer dizer fugir do mundo. É, isso sim, uma via para se ser verdadeiramente livre. O poder da finança e o poder dos mídia – observou Bento XVI – ambos necessários e úteis, por vezes correm o risco de dominar o homem.

“Vemos como o mundo das finanças pode dominar o homem: o ter e o aparecer dominam o mundo e escravizam-no. O mundo das finanças já não representa um instrumento para favorecer a vida do homem, mas torna-se um poder que o oprime, que deve ser como que adorado, como uma falsa divindade. Contra este conformismo, sejamos anti-conformistas! O que conta é o ser, não o ter!”
O mesmo se diga do poder da opinião pública – prosseguiu o Papa. Precisamos de notícias, de conhecer a realidade do mundo, mas os meios de comunicação podem-se tornar um poder em que o que conta é o que se diz e já não a realidade tal e qual. O mundo virtual corre o risco de ser tornar mais importante do que o real. Também aqui há lugar para o não conformismo cristão. Não queremos ser sempre modelados, louvados. Não queremos a aparência, mas sim a verdade, porque é esta que nos torna livres, a verdadeira liberdade cristã.

“O não conformismo do cristão redime-nos, restitui-nos à liberdade. Rezemos ao Senhor para que nos ajude a sermos homens livres, neste não conformismo que não é contra o mundo, mas sim o verdadeiro amor do mundo”.



Três orações de Jesus na Cruz:tema da audiência geral do Papa


(15/2/2012) Durante a audiência geral desta quarta feira Bento XVI prosseguiu a sua meditação sobre a oração de Jesus na Cruz. O Papa sublinhou que também nas provações mais difíceis nunca caímos fora das mãos da Deus.
Escutemos Bento XVI falando em português.

"Queridos irmãos e irmãs,
O Evangelho de São Lucas nos transmite três palavras de Jesus na Cruz. A primeira é um pedido de perdão para os seus algozes: «Pai, perdoa-lhes! Eles não sabem o que fazem». Deste modo, Jesus cumpre aquilo que ensinara no Sermão da Montanha: «Amai os vossos inimigos, fazei o bem aos que vos odeiam». A segunda palavra de Jesus na Cruz é a resposta ao pedido do “bom ladrão”, um dos homens que estavam crucificados com Ele: «Ainda hoje estarás comigo no Paraíso». Jesus está ciente de entrar diretamente na comunhão com o Pai e de abrir de novo ao homem a estrada para o Paraíso de Deus. A última palavra de Jesus é um grito de derradeira entrega a Deus, num ato de total abandono: «Pai, em tuas mãos entrego o meu espírito». Ao colocar-Se inteiramente nas mãos do Pai, Jesus nos comunica a certeza de que por mais duras que sejam as provas, jamais nos encontraremos fora das mãos de Deus, as mesmas que nos criaram, sustentaram e acompanham no caminho da vida, com um amor infinito e fiel. Saúdo todos os peregrinos de língua portuguesa, nomeadamente os fiéis brasileiros vindos de Curitiba, a quem exorto a aprender do exemplo da oração de Jesus, uma oração cheia de serena confiança e firme esperança no Pai do Céu, que nunca nos abandona. Que as Suas Bênçãos sempre vos acompanhem! Ide em paz!"

No momento das saudações o Papa dirigiu um pensamento particular á associação italiana Famílias numerosas. No actual contexto social, observou, os núcleos familiares com tantos filhos constituem um testemunho de fé, de coragem e de optimismo, porque sem filhos não há futuro.
“Faço votos de que sejam promovidos ulteriormente adequadas intervenções sociais e legislativas em defesa e apoio das famílias mais numerosas, que constituem uma riqueza e uma esperança para o país inteiro"
