Canons Regular of St. John Cantius in Portugal :The Basilica of Our Lady of the Martyrs was a jewel box of pure beauty, and is one of the oldest parish churches in Lisbon. Here are some images from the Sung Mass with incense done in the Extraordinary Form, with Rev. Scott Haynes, celebrant.

Mass begins with the prayers at the foot of the altar. It was decided to use the free standing altar with an "ad Orientem" orientation because the high altar had been modified as to make it unusable for Mass.

Fr. Scott Haynes and some of the Canons Regular of St. John Cantius are presently leading a pilgrimage within Portugal and Scott Smith, a professional photographer, is there with them and has been -- and will be -- capturing some photos. Those of you interested in the Canons Regular or Portugal may wish to watch his blog for the next while as photos are posted. We will also endeavour to provide some of these photos here.

Here are a few images from the first day of their pilgrimage, showing Mass within the Basilica of Our Lady of the Martyrs, Lisbon.
